The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design is an art school located in Rivertown's Historic Third Ward. It was founded in 1974 and was exclusively devoted to the education of artist's and designers. MIAD, before remodeled into an art college, was previously a warehouse buildings so it has strong, industrial walls and 5 floors. After the Apocalypse, many MIAD students decided to stay in the building. They kept the cafeteria (located in the basement) running and raided all local restaurants in order to build a vast collection of non-perishable food items. They're all obsessed with soy milk and have a seemingly endless supply. However, you're going to have something rare to trade for it. Before the Apocalypse, many MIAD students owned cats. After the apocalypse, they decided to bring all of their cats to the main building. The cats have since multiplied. There seems to be some sort of cat worship going on around their cat statue, located in the small one room fifth floor. The creative descendants of those students cautiously offer a safe place to stay to wandering strangers. The outside of the building remains relatively untouched; the inside is over saturated with art. |
